Ravens want fans to pick out an M&T Bank Stadium anthem

With Nelly's "Hot in Herre" bumping on the speakers while legendary linebacker Ray Lewis enters M&T Bank Stadium, the Ravens are covered when it comes to pumping up the crowd. But they are asking fans to submit suggestions for a "pump-up song" to play when the defense needs to mount a late-game stand.

“We know how good our fans are -- and they’re great at M&T [Bank Stadium]. They get it and they help us win,” coach John Harbaugh told the team’s website. “If we can take the noise to another level, let’s do it.”

The Ravens are 19-5 at M&T Bank Stadium under John Harbaugh, and they have one of the NFL’s best home records over the past decade. But the stadium couldn’t crack ESPN’s list of the league’s toughest venues. It is probably unrelated, but the Ravens are now asking fans to choose a track for their second-half playlist.

This brings to mind the Steelers, whose fans literally make Heinz Field tremble when they blast “Renegade” by Styx over the stadium speakers whenever the defense needs a lift -- and it usually works. Maybe we can get the same effect here with whatever song the fans come up with (and hopefully it’s a little more modern).

My two cents: I would vote for “Hate Me Now” by Nas.

If you have a better suggestion, submit it on the Ravens' website. But be sure to leave it in the comments section below, too.
