Within five minutes of arriving in the Infield at Pimlico this morning, I got snubbed by a centaur who had more important matters to attend to. Fortunately, after watching Mr. Greengenes play a song or two, I stumbled into Stacy Keibler, who had just wrapped up a radio interview with Mickey and the gang from 98 Rock and is also significantly more attractive than Kegasus.
The actress, model and former WWE Diva stopped in her hometown on the way from the Cannes Film Festival to Los Angeles for the 136th running of the Preakness Stakes. She is making appearances all day at Pimlico and is introducing Bruno Mars, Train and the other bands performing in the Infield.
Keibler, 31, has been an Infield regular since she convinced her mom to let her attend when she was 16.
“I’ve been coming to this since I was 16 back when they had the ‘Running of the Fools’ and that’s what I remember about it,” she said. “I remember standing in line with coolers. And I have loved to see the evolution of the Infield because now those kids that were 16 when I was can now bring their families and have fun. I just love it. It’s such a tradition here in Baltimore.”
And she spoke for all of us when she said, “I’m just so proud that Baltimore has an event like this.”
