Orioles' Manny Machado to unveil salsa brand Tuesday

Are you an Orioles fan? What about an Orioles fan who enjoys team-related salsa with your chips? Or are you part of the even smaller subset that prefers to buy your team-related salsa in person, as opposed to over the scary Internet?

Diehard player-affiliated salsa aficionados, your day has come.

Orioles third baseman Manny Machado will be formally unveiling his Machado’s Salsa brand on Tuesday afternoon at 12:45 p.m. at the Pikesville Giant, located at 3757 Old Court Road — the rare election day media event that will be worth attending, I’m sure.

The salsas, which come in mild and medium flavors, will be available exclusively at area Giant stores, and appears to be a limited run.

The salsa is a product of PLB Sports, which appears to have the market cornered on celebrity-endorsed food products. Their client list includes Patriots’ star Rob Gronkowski (Gronk Flakes), Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (black bean salsa), and Steelers' Brett “The Diesel” Kiesel salsa.

No word on what distinguishes said salsa from one another, but I’m sure Machado’s is the best.
