As if anyone needed a reminder of how last year's Ravens campaign went, EA Sports' Madden player ratings are out, and the top-rated player on the Ravens is none other than kicker Justin Tucker.
Tucker is rated as a 93 overall, one point ahead of defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, who is a 92. The Madden screen grab above shows Ngata as the top player, but I’m pretty sure 93 is a higher number than 92, so for our purposes Tucker is the highest rated player.
The team is rated 84 overall, second in the division behind Cincinnati (86), who won the division last year. The Madden website has a link to a spreadsheet that shows the entire team’s ratings.
Tucker was tied with Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski with a 93-percent field goal rate, and at one point during the season made 33 straight field goals, which is the league’s fourth longest streak.
So while he’s certainly atop the scale for kickers, it’s kind of an indictment on the rest of the team that the kicker is the highest rated.
Still, while they lack the elite talent that’s rated in the high 90s on the game, the Ravens have 19 players rated above an 80, which I always viewed as a benchmark of quality in games like this.
Here are the Ravens’ top 10 players, per the Madden rankings:
K Justin Tucker - 93
DT Haloti Ngata - 92
RG Marshal Yanda - 92
OLB Elvis Dumervil - 90
OLB Terrell Suggs - 90
CB Lardarius Webb - 90
LT Eugene Monroe - 89
TE Dennis Pitta - 87
WR Steve Smith - 87
QB Joe Flacco - 86
WR Torrey Smith - 86Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
