2. The defense couldn't get stops late in games

Based on their numbers, the Ravens had an above-average defense, ranking in the top 12 in the NFL in passing defense, rushing defense, total yards allowed and points surrendered. But often when the game was on the line, the defense came up small. The troubles started in a loss to the Green Bay Packers and continued the following week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They couldn't get off the field in a loss to the Cleveland Browns, and nearly lost the following week when the Cincinnati Bengals scored on a Hail Mary pass on the final play of regulation. The lack of a killer instinct kept this defense from being a good one.
