News item: The Maryland men's basketball team built an eight-point lead in the first half Wednesday before eventually losing to Duke by 13 at Comcast Center on the night the court was named after retired coach Gary Williams.
Schmuck's take: The Terps unraveled a bit in the final minutes, but the fact that they were in the game as long as they were is another sign that the Mark Turgeon era is off to a very promising start. Don't know about anybody else, but I didn't expect the Terps to be particularly competitive this year, so -- on my calendar -- they're well ahead of schedule.
