Morgan State won two Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association titles and two bowls behind Lanier, a guard and middle linebacker who twice made Small College All-American. In 1965, he led a defense that allowed 34 points in nine games for the unbeaten Bears. Lanier starred with the Kansas City Chiefs and belongs to both the pro and college halls of fame. |
