He was 16 when he entered <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="OREDU0000128" title="Morgan State University" href="/topic/education/colleges-universities/morgan-state-university-OREDU0000128.topic">Morgan State</a>, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound tackle and the youngest player ever to dress for the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000036" title="Chicago Bears" href="/topic/sports/football/chicago-bears-ORSPT000036.topic">Bears</a>. By graduation in 1953, Brown was a two-time All-American and a three-time All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association choice. A 27th-round draft pick by the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000197" title="New York Giants" href="/topic/sports/football/new-york-giants-ORSPT000197.topic">New York Giants</a>, the Pro Football Hall of Famer played 13 <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000007" title="NFL" href="/topic/sports/football/nfl-ORSPT000007.topic">NFL</a> seasons, made first-team All-Pro six times and was Lineman of the Year in 1956.
