( Reuters photo / June 28, 2012 ) Dont blame it on R.A. Dickey: Going into last week, everyone was worried that a date with knuckleballer R.A. Dickey might send them into an offensive tailspin, but the deep offensive slump that the Orioles currently find themselves in dates back further than Dickeys one-hitter. The Orioles have serious continuity problems that are the result of their vulnerability to the strikeout and the loss of outfielders Nolan Reimold and Nick Markakis to injuries. Over the last 11 games, they have scored 20 runs -- or fewer than two per game. Something has got to give for them to stay competitive much longer. |
