( Patuxent Publishing / December 1, 2011 ) At 50, the jockey from Ellicott City keeps riding -- and winning. With more than 6,300 victories, Pino ranks 12th all time. His mounts have won more than $114 million. Pino, who won his first race at Bowie Race Track in 1979, has been based in Maryland all his life. In 2007, he took second in the Kentucky Derby and third in the Preakness aboard Hard Spun. |
