His 1-0 shutout of the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000015" title="Los Angeles Dodgers" href="/topic/sports/baseball/los-angeles-dodgers-ORSPT000015.topic">Los Angeles Dodgers</a> clinched the 1966 World Series. A consistent, even-keeled performer, McNally won 17 consecutive decisions over two seasons, and 181 career games for Baltimore. The three-time All-Star is the only pitcher to hit a grand slam in the World Series.
