Chuck's voice always resonated in New York City, where I enjoyed listening to him describe O's games since I was a youngster in the 1960s.He will be missed by all fans of radio broadcasts.

My favorite memories of Chuck Thompson were when I was in my early teens. Just listening to his magnificent voice and the way in which he called the Orioles and Colts games made me feel like their biggest fan. Win or lose, Mr. Thompson always made the game itself a joy to listen to.

"Ain't the crabs cold!" I remember you during my first job at the Turff Inn. Class act all the way and a good tipper! Thanks for the memories

Chuck really made listening to Colts and Orioles games a real treat. And the famous call after a homerun or Touchdown "Ain't the beer cold" As a youth growing up in Baltimore I had the chance to listen to one of the best play by play men of all time.

I met Chuck at a book signing. He asked me to sit with him. He treated me like I was the only person in the room. In that moment, I remembered why my father would go to games with a radio in his pocket. The way he talked to me was the same way he talked to every fan listening to him.

GROWING UP AN ORIOLE FAN IN THE BRONX WAS NOT EASY. LISTENING TO CHUCK'S BROADCAST IN THE EVENINGS WAS HEAVEN. HIS DESCRIPTIONS OF THE EVENTS AT THE OLD BALLYARD WILL LIVE WITH ME FOREVER.

I truly miss hearing Chucks voice. Having left Baltimore in the 70's I grew up with "Go to war miss Agnes" and such great phrases. I will always consider him one of the greatest announcers of all time.

Chuck could really turn a phrase. When a team came from behind to tie a game, "The folks are as good as the people!" You would know something special happened when Chuck cried, "Go to war Miss Agnes!" And if it was REALLY special, "Go to war Miss Agnes WITH Miss Murphy!"
