88. Buck Williams, basketball

His coach at Maryland, Lefty Driesell, called Williams "my horse." Though just 6 feet 8, the Terps' rugged center routinely outmuscled taller players, such as Ralph Sampson, Virginia's 7-4, three-time National Player of the Year. Twice, Williams led the Atlantic Coast Conference in rebounding, earning All-America honors as well as a berth on the 1980 Olympic team. He left college early and played 17 seasons in the NBA.
