Though 5 feet 9, Bellino starred in two victories over Army and led the Midshipmen to a 9-2 finish in 1960, when No. 4 Navy lost to Missouri in the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVSPR00003525" title="Orange Bowl" href="/topic/sports/football/orange-bowl-EVSPR00003525.topic">Orange Bowl</a>. A first-team All-American, the halfback set 15 team records and was the nation's No. 2 scorer as a senior (110 points).
