16. Gino Marchetti, football

( Baltimore Sun photo by Richard Stacks ) The consummate pass rusher, he was strong enough to cast off blockers and quick enough to evade them. Named the greatest defensive end of the NFL's first half-century, Marchetti played 13 years with the Colts and captained them to back-to-back championships (1958 and 1959). Seven times, he made first-team All-Pro. Rugged play aside, the Hall of Famer was never flagged for a 15-yard penalty. |
