The kid from Govans had a line-drive set shot and a passion for playing defense that made him a star at Maryland and in the pros. Twice an All-American for the Terps, Shue set career scoring records in 1954 that stood for 20 years. A first-round NBA draft pick, third overall, he played guard for a decade in the league, made the All-Star team five times and once scored 45 points against the dynastic Celtics at Boston Garden.
