I enjoy your weekly expose on Md. athletes-Having played with and against Joe Cowan for 4 years, and having seen Walters play many times, I cannot understand how you can put Walters ahead of Joe Cowan-Walters played with light sticks designed to keep the ball in-Cowan had to play with sticks designed to release the ball-In the wodd stick days, many pklayuers used cheaters(gut stopper at throat of stick) to keep the ball in stick-I saw Joe's sticks all the time-he never had one(many recall the famous close up photo of Jimmy Lewis' stick in the 65 JHU Navy game-Walter's never was drafted by the NFL and he Joe seemed to be a much better natural athlete-Joe played hurt, never gave up, and passed the ball. You should check with Scotty, and all the old timers who saw all of them play-Check with Buddy Beardmore to see if even he disagrees-Doug Honig Captain 70 JHU championship team
