Jaguars fans don't want Tim Tebow. Seriously?
A group of Jacksonville Jaguars fans known as the Bold City Brigade have launched a campaign for the team to NOT sign Tim Tebow. Their website is called www.evenifhesreleased.com.
The site features big, bold lettering saying, "Even if he's released. I support this message. Brought to you by the Bold City Brigade." If you click on the check mark supporting the campaign, your vote is counted and the message changes to the number of "endorsements from REAL Jaguars fans that don't need Tim Tebow."
As of early Thursday morning, the number of fans endorsing that anti-Tebow message was 32. Not exactly a landslide of opinion.
(UPDATE 1: As of 12:20 p.m., the number has exploded to 73,697 -- that's a lot more than actually go to Jags games, right?)
(UPDATE 2: As of 2 p.m. the number is close to 89,000.)
(UPDATE 3: As of 5 p.m. the number is approaching 500,000. Are they even that many people in Duval County?)
The Bold City Brigade describes itself this way on its Twitter account: "The Bold City Brigade is a Jacksonville Jaguars Supporters group. We're here to Unite the Jaguars fan-base and we're not stopping until we do. Be Bold."
Their anti-Tebow campaign runs counter to the one launched by powerful attorney John Morgan, who has been running radio ads in the Jacksonville and Daytona Beach markets urging the Jaguars to sign Tebow.
