CLEAR LAKE - Webster recorded a clean sweep in Northeast Conference boys' golf.
Webster turned in the top five scores on the way to winning the NEC Class B boys' golf meet on Friday at Clear Lake Country Club. Webster won by 28 strokes over Deuel and the Bearcats crowned Spencer Lux as the medalist with a 68. Lux won by seven strokes over his teammate Josh Gaikowski with a 75.
The NEC Class A boys' golf meet was contested last fall at the Valley View Golf Course in Sisseton. Aberdeen Roncalli won that portion of the NEC by carding a 331 to finish ahead of Sisseton at 344. Ryan Patnoe of Milbank took home medalist honors with a 72.
The NEC contains both Class A and B schools for boys' golf, and the Class A golf season takes place in the fall and Class B in the spring.
The highest finisher not from Webster on Friday was Lincoln Swenson of Deuel in sixth place with an 82.
The five NEC schools, along with Aberdeen Christian, Castlewood, Florence-Henry, Frederick, Great Plains Lutheran, Ipswich, Langford, Leola and Tiospa Zina, will play in the Region 1B meet on Monday at Cattail Crossing Golf Course in Watertown.
