Writer J.K. Rowling has often spoken about her struggle with depression when living as a single mother in Edinburgh, and recently revealed that she had considered suicide. Rowling credits her daughter with pulling her out of depression. The writer sought help and underwent a kind of counseling treatment known as cognitive behavioral therapy.
