American Idol Season 8 contestant Matt Breitzke (pronounced bright-ski), welder and proud papa of a three-year-old son, hails from Bixby, Okla. and auditioned in Kansas City, Mo. The friendly looking bear of a man performed Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" for the panel. While Randy didn't quite think Matt was right for "Idol", the girls thought he had "natural talent" and they, along with Simon, gave their approval, sending Matt Breitzke, golden ticket in hand, to Hollywood ... but not before getting a hug and a kiss from his supportive wife and child outside the stage door!
In Hollywood, Matt Breitzke, 27, was in a lucky group at the Kodak Theatre for night two's group round. Adam Lambert, Jeremy Michael Sarver and Jessica Langseth joined him for "Some Kind of Wonderful", which was, in fact, wonderful, and the entire group got through round two!
