A patient is prepped for facelift surgery
Facelifts, technically known as rhytidectomies, are performed to surgically remove wrinkles from the face and neck. Incisions are made behind the hairline and ears and the skin is then pulled and sutured in order to create younger appearance. There was a 14 percent increase in facelifts performed between 2006 and 2007.
