'True Blood's' Deborah Ann Woll Joins 'Daredevil'

"True Blood" star Deborah Ann Woll is trading supernaturals for superheroes and has been cast as the female lead in "Daredevil."

Woll will play Karen Page, the love interest to blind crimefighter Daredevil himself Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) in the 13-episode series. Vincent D'Onofrio, Rosario Dawson, Elden Henson and Peter Shinkoda are also series regulars.

The show, which is based on the Marvel comics, comes from Marvel and ABC Studios. Steven S. DeKnight is the showrunner, having replaced "Lost" alum Drew Goddard. Both will serve as exec producers, with Goddard serving as consulting producer.

The role may have a special connection to Woll, as her real-life boyfriend EJ Scott is losing his sight due to choroideremia and the two publicly campaign to fight the rare genetic disorder.

Woll is repped by CAA.
