Randall Wright will helm and write the documentary, which will receive 140,000 pounds ($236,000) from the BFI. Fly Film Company's Kate Ogborn, whose credits include Terence Davies' "The Deep Blue Sea" and Ken Loach's "The Spirit of '45," produces with Wright.
Wright's previous films include the BAFTA nommed "Lucian Freud: Painted Life," a docu about the British artist, and "David Hockney: Secret Knowledge."
International sales on "Hockney" are repped by Hanway.
