Grindon will work with Legendary TV and Digital prexy Bruce Rosenblum in building out the company's smallscreen business.
The hiring of Grindon, who spent more than 15 years as president of Sony Pictures TV Intl., indicates Legendary is serious about self-distribution around the globe. Legendary jump-started its TV production activity last year with the acquisition of Asylum Entertainment, which produces a number of unscripted cable shows and longform projects.

"He has successfully operated at the highest levels of the international marketplace and acutely understands the shifting landscape. I'm confident he'll build a nimble and innovative infrastructure that will enable Legendary to deliver on its promise of producing and distributing quality television content on a worldwide basis."
Grindon left Sony in 2010 and most recently headed his own consulting shingle. He advised Media Rights Capital on international sales of "House of Cards."
