Warner Bros. TV Pacts with Maker Studios for Heist Comedy on YouTube

Digital video company Maker Studios has teamed with Warner Bros. Television Group's Studio 2.0 division for an original short-form comedy series, "Robin Banks and the Bank Roberts," that debuted Wednesday on YouTube.

The show was created and written by "Friends" executive producers Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen. Cast includes Michael Mosley ("Scrubs," "Pan Am"), Tony Cavalero ("Aim High," "2 Broke Girls") and Josh Zuckerman ("90210," "Desperate Housewives").

The first of the show's 10 episodes, each 3-5 minutes long, was launched available on Maker's Nacho Punch comedy channel. Following the premiere, a new episode will be posted every Wednesday through March 19, 2014. The series will also become available across additional distribution platforms beginning in February, the companies said.

"Robin Banks," a parody of heist movies, follows the misadventures of three bumbling bank robbers. Mosely (pictured, above) plays the title character, Robin, the ringleader who tries and fails to keep the group from screwing up.

"Maker strives to align ourselves with content that cuts through the noise and it was clear from the get-go that Andrew and Ted were able to take their gloves off in 'Robin Banks' -- a series we know our audience will gravitate towards," Andy Vick, Maker's GM of comedy, said in announcing the series launch.

Pact with Warner Bros. TV comes after Maker cut a deal last fall with Ben Stiller's Red Hour Films shingle to produce and distribute season 2 of YouTube comedy series "Next Time on Lonny." Maker also recently signed a partnership with Canadian comedy producer Just for Laughs for video properties on and off YouTube.
