Toronto: Ryan Kwanten's 'Right Kind Of Wrong' Gets U.S. Distribution

Magnolia Pictures has acquired U.S. rights to "True Blood" star Ryan Kwanten's "The Right Kind of Wrong" in advance of its Sept. 12 world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.

The romantic comedy also stars Sara Canning ("The Vampire Diaries"), Catherine O'Hara and Will Sasso and is directed by Jeremiah Chechik. Scribe Megan Martin adapted the script from Tim Sandlin's novel "Sex and Sunsets."

Kwanten portrays a dishwasher and failed writer made famous by his ex-wife's blog, "Why You Suck."

Producers are Robert Lantos and Ari Lantos. Mark Musselman is exec producing.

Magnolia is planning an early 2014 release. The deal was negotiated by John Sloss of Cinetic Media on behalf of Serendipity Point Films.
