Peter Quaife

Original bassist for the Kinks, Peter Quaife (top left), died June 23, 2010, from kidney failure. He played on some of the band's biggest hits including "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night" and "Tired of Waiting for You" before leaving in 1969. Bandmate Dave Davies posted on his website, "without Pete there would have been no Kinks," adding, "The Kinks were never really the Kinks without you." Quaife was 66.
