North Broward Prep wide receiver Chris Taylor is going to have to acclimate to two new campuses over the next year.
Taylor, the Sun Sentinel's eighth-ranked receiver and No. 32 overall player in Broward County, committed to Duke University Tuesday morning and announced that he'd be transferring to Davie's University School in June.
Taylor entertained offers from Appalachian State, Eastern Michigan, Yale and Marshall before settling on Duke after a visit to the school.
Taylor put academics atop his priority list when choosing schools, and he said he couldn't pass up Duke's combination of ACC football and top-flight academics. Taylor carries a 3.9 GPA and a 1540 SAT score.
"My decision was a 20-plus year decision, not just four or five," Taylor said.
Taylor's on-field prowess is impressive as well. At six-foot-one and 170 pounds, the three-star prospected uses his prodigious speed to tear apart defenses. He runs a legitimate 4.5 40-yard dash and has impressive leaping ability.
