U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Weston, and U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, a Miami Democrat whose district includes part of South Broward, collected Tuesday on Wasserman Schultz’s bet on the Miami Heat.
She wagered with U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, on the outcome of the NBA Finals in which the Miami Heat beat his city’s San Antonio Spurs.
Castro provided a meal of tamales, black beans, rice and fresh avocado from La Gloria Restaurant in San Antonio for Tuesday’s lunch.
Wasserman Schultz had anted up Joe's Stone Crabs, which showed her confidence in the Heat. A dinner for two, including shipping, ranges from $127 to $194, depending on the size of the claws
Wasserman Schultz's district doesn't include Miami's American Airlines Arena, but she does represent South Beach, home to Joe's – and the place that TV commentators and some players frequently and incorrectly describe as the home of the Heat.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
