Roy Potter, a Washington, D.C., attorney, won the “Betting for Justice” Poker Tournament Jan. 21, featuring Vanessa Rousso at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood.
Rousso, a former student of the University of Miami School of Law, competed with more than 100 local attorneys and poker enthusiasts in the tournament to benefit Legal Services of Miami.
It was Potter’s first tournament, and he walked away with $10,000.
“I thought this would be a great way to spend some time supporting a deserving cause, and I was right! The win was the cherry on top,” he said.
The money raised at will help LSGMI assist vulnerable individuals and families in Miami-Dade who face legal problems.
