A minivan traveling eastbound on Interstate 595 rolled over on Saturday evening, sending all seven of its occupants to hospitals and backing up traffic.
However, none of the injuries was life-threatening, Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Wysocky said.
The accident occurred between Flamingo and Hiatus roads at about 6:45 p.m., when the driver of a Honda Odyssey attempted to avoid cars slowing down in front of her, Wysocky said.
"She veered to the left and struck the concrete barrier wall, and the vehicle overturned on its side," he said.
Six of the minivan's occupants were transported to Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation and the driver to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Wysocky said.
The driver, whose name was not released, was charged with failure to use due care along with a child restraint violation, he said.
All lanes of traffic were reopened by 7:45 p.m.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
