Scientists from the State Wildlife Commission are tracking manatee movements. The issue: The power plant in Riviera Beach is an important manatee habitat because it discharges warm water. But it is being converted to cleaner fuel that will reduce or eliminate the discharge, and scientists want to know where manatees will go instead. Over 200 manatees gather at the FPL power plant at Riviera Beach. Photo taken from the Goodyear blimp.
