Three Things to consider on this sports Wednesday:
Thing 1: Wow, that was so sad on last night's Hard Knocks to see how Vontae Davis' first reaction when Jeff Ireland told him he was being traded was to pull his phone out and say he needed to call his grandmother.
Still such a childlike innocence to Vontae.
"We've had some ups and downs," the Dolphins General Manager told Vontae, "but everything is going to be positive. I want you to have a great career."
Unfortunately, that won't be with the Dolphins.
Thing 2: Davis' eyes flashed with a bit of anger when he asked Ireland, "So, who'd y'all trade me for?"
And he just nodded silently when Ireland told him, without specifying, "A couple of picks. A couple of picks."
To Ireland's credit, the Colts' offer apparently started out as a fifth- and sixth-rounder and eventually went all the way up to a No. 2 in 2013.
First, however, the Dolphins must get through 2012.
Thing 3: So, it was Lauren Tannehill who convinced her husband he needed to start sliding feet first at the end of his scrambles.
Judging from her enthusiastic reaction, why would Ryan Tannehill do it any other way?
