Burrowing owls dig nests in the ground and lay eggs, with males and females taking turns at the nest. But keep your distance because the owls could become weakened from constantly using energy to fly away from people.

Where: Broward County is the number two county in Florida, after Lee County, for burrowing owl nests. Look west of Interstate 95 in parks, golf courses and school grounds. Brian Piccolo Park is a good spot. In Palm Beach County, Florida Atlantic University¿s Boca Raton campus has a highly visible population.
