The Panthers recalled center Greg Rallo from their AHL affiliate in San Antonio on Sunday morning.
Rallo is expected to take Jack Skille's place in the lineup in Sunday afternoon's game against the New York Islanders, the fourth in a season-long five-game trip. Skille was banged up late in Saturday night's 2-1 loss to the Devils. He left the game with 7:35 left in the third period with an undisclosed injury and didn't return.
"Unfortunately, we ran out of gas a little bit," Panthers coach Kevin Dineen said after the game. "We had a short bench at the end. That's kind of been the same story, that there's been games where we haven't been able to finish with a complete lineup, and that makes things challenging.
With Rallo on the roster, the Panthers currently have 10 players that have played at least one game in San Antonio this season. The others are forwards Drew Shore, Mike Santorelli, Eric Selleck and Quinton Howden, defensemen Erik Gudbranson, Mike Caruso and Tyson Strachan and Colby Robak and goalie Jacob Markstrom.
