South Florida softball will be well represented this weekend when the Florida Athletic Coaches Association hosts the 24th annual All-Star Classic at Forest High School in Ocala.
Four teams will compete in the event, which features two games on Friday, May 17 and a championship and consolation game on May 18th. Tickets are $5 per day.
Nine players from the Broward and Palm Beach County area were selected for the event, which will also include two South Florida coaches--Pembroke Pines Charter's Tom Fadul and St. Thomas Aquinas' Bryan Baucom.
The players from Palm Beach County--Jupiter's Kylee Hanson and Palm Beach Gardens' Ta'Coia Williams--will be on the East squad, which will face the West team Friday at 6 p.m.
The Broward players will play for the South All-Stars and will face the North team at 8 on Friday.
The Broward players are Kaitlyn Woodruff (Archbishop McCarthy), Katie Kalasunas (Western), Samantha Sharkey (St. Thomas), Heather Bramos (Coral Springs Charter), Victoria Gonzalez (Pembroke Pines Charter), Kaylyn Kirk (Monarch), and Courtney Methven (Cypress Bay).
