New FAU basketball court finished

FAU didn't opt to top arch-rival FIU's new radical court with an owl's nest design or a title wave motif painted onto the hardwood. No, clean and simple was the approach to the partial redesign inside FAU Arena, and it came out looking sharp.

FAU assistant coach Jorge Sanz tweeted a picture from inside the Burrow Monday, showing off the new court, which keeps the spread-winged Owl — the new athletic department go-to logo — and a mainly blue court.

Gone are the red-filled areas inside the three-point line and the Sun Belt logo underneath the free-throw line.

It might not be a death panther rising out of the sand and palm trees, but there's no doubt that FAU upraded its hardwood as it heads to Conference USA.
