<b>THE SKINNY:</b> The Hurricanes set an <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000122" title="NCAA" href="/topic/sports/college-sports/ncaa-ORSPT000122.topic">NCAA</a> victory for largest margin of victory in back-to-back games against ranked opponents drilling <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000000288" title="Syracuse Orange" href="/topic/sports/college-sports/syracuse-orange-ORSPT000000288.topic">Syracuse</a> and the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000000301" title="Washington Huskies" href="/topic/sports/college-sports/washington-huskies-ORSPT000000301.topic">Huskies</a> by a combined 124-7. UM’s average time of possession in four first-half offensive scores was 47 seconds. Clinton Portis did the most damage with three first-half touchdowns, and the defense forced six turnovers. Washington had beaten UM 34-29 the previous season, and the result ending up knocking the ‘Canes out of the national title game.<br>
