Game 8: Miami 18, BOSTON COLLEGE 7

THE SKINNY: Miami got its defensive play of the year when, with less than 40 seconds left and Boston College at the UM 9 down only 11-7, Mike Rumph deflected a Brian St. Pierre pass, Matt Walters intercepted it and Ed Reed took an ill-advised lateral for a touchdown. Ken Dorsey threw a career-high four interceptions. For the first time since losing 47-0 to Florida State in 1997, the Hurricanes' offense failed to score a touchdown. Clinton Portis had a career-high 36 carries for 160 yards, and kicker Todd Sievers made four field goals.
