We're guessing that every year on Nov. 20, Bill Gates runs a billion dollars through his dishwasher just for the hell of it. That's the day Microsoft shipped the first version of its Windows operating system to consumers. It changed computing, and maybe the world. But it's still not as cool as the iPod.
