One year after being the only National League All-Star to not get into the game, time was again running thin for Jeff Conine at the 1995 All-Star Game. Then, leading off the top of the eighth inning in Arlington, Texas, Conine was inserted into the 2-2 game as a pinch-hitter. On a 2-2 pitch, he cranked a Steve Ontiveros pitch over the fence. The NL won 3-2 and Conine was named game MVP.
