FINAL Braves 2 - Marlins 0
Another home campaign has started for the Marlins, and though the stands are far from full, the roof is open on a stellar night for baseball.
Top 1: Justin Upton singles to left, but Wade LeBlanc retires Evan Gattis to end the inning.
Bottom 1: Two-out walks by Giancarlo Stanton and Greg Dobbs put two on for Justin Ruggiano, but he flies out to end the inning.
Top 2: Juan Francisco singles, but there's little going for the Braves as Chris Johnson flies out to center and Andrelton Simmons lines out to Juan Pierre.
Bottom 2: Marlins go down in order.
Top 3: Slowey is finding a groove, he gets through the inning without surrendering a hit.
Bottom 3: The Marlins threaten with two outs, again, as Placido Polanco singles and Stanton walks, but Greg Dobbs strikes out swinging on a slider outside the zone — the seventh pitch of the at-bat — to end the inning.
Top 4: A leadoff double by Justin Upton comes back to bite Slowey, as a Gattis flyout moves Upton to third and a Dan Uggla groundout to first brings him home.

Bottom 4: Justin Ruggiano tries to lead off the inning with a bunt single, but a stellar defensive play by Braves third baseman Juan Francisco punches him out. Rob Brantly strikes out swining. Francisco ends the inning, cleaning up a grounder by Andy Hechavarria.
Top 5: Chris Johnson leads the frame off with a hit, but the Braves strand him on second. Slowey had allowed four hits through five.
Bottom 5: Donovan Solano and Slowey go down without a fight, but Juan Pierre reaches first on a hit by pitch. Polanco strikes out on three pitches to end the threat. Marlins have one hit after five innings.
Top 6: Justin Upton hits his major-league leading sixth homer of the season, massacring an 88 mile-per-hour fastball on the inside part of the plate more than 400 feet over the left field wall. Slowey recovers to strike out Gattis and induce a Uggla flyout.

Bottom 6: A Stanton strikeout, a Dobbs groundout and a Ruggiano roller to short ends the inning. Maholm has nine ground-ball outs.
Top 7: Chris Johnson singles to center with one. He's punched out on an Andrelton Simmons fielder's choice. Maholm ends the inning with a weak flyout to Pierre.
Bottom 7: Brantly strikes out. Hecharvarria grounds out and Solano lines out — the Marlins still have only one hit.
Top 8: Chad Qualls strikes out B.J. Upton, and then gets help from a fantastic over-the-head, sliding catch in foul territory by Andy Hecharvarria. But Justin Upton singled up the middle and Gattis punched one past third, setting up Dan Uggla, who strikes out on an 88 mph slider at the knees.
Bottom 8: Eric O'Flaherty comes in for Mahalm. For the nostalgic in the crowd, Dan Uggla's error on a Juan Pierre grounder to second gave the Marlins a much-needed baserunner, but Polanco grounded into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.
Top 9: John Maine comes in and finds himself in trouble from the get-go, allowing a single to Juan Francisco to lead off the inning and Chris Johnson a batter later. But after Simmons flies out, Reed Johnson strikes out and B.J. Upton grounds out, the Marlins escape with the scoreline intact.
Bottom 9: Craig Kimbrel comes in for the Braves and walks Stanton, the leadoff hitter. Dan Uggla's great pick at second can only snag Stanton, as the Braves are unable to turn the double-play on Greg Dobbs, leaving a runner on first for Ruggiano, who flies out loudly to Justin Upton in left.
Rob Brantley moves pinch runner Chris Valaika to third on a single up the middle, but Hechavarria strikes out on four pitches, ending the game at two hours and 33 minutes.
