That isn't an opinion. It is a mathematical fact benefiting South Florida's NFL team, which is presently 3-2, and enjoying the bye week.
Every other AFC team has a .500 or better schedule left. The Dolphins' final 11 opponents, which includes all six AFC East games, have a combined .462 winning percentage.
That means the table is set for the Dolphins to gain one of the two available Wild-Card spots. But I believe plenty has to change with Joe Philbin's team if they plan to win seven of the next 11, which is my prediction of what it will take to get into the playoffs.
During my Saturday show on WQAM (560AM) I break down the Dolphins' issues, expressing my disappointment with the coaching staff, and provide some possible solutions to the team's numerous problems.
We also bring on USA Today NFL writer/columnist Jarrett Bell, who breaks down the NFL landscape, tells us how the nation views the Dolphins, and helps us separate the pretenders from contenders.
In the first hour we talk about the team's issues, and I express why I believe coaching has been one of the major hindrances (I wrote a column about it in the Sun-Sentinel). In the second hour we analyze the schedule and project what is on deck for the Dolphins. And in the final hour I recommend some solutions, and we answer your questions rapid fire style.
The pod-cast is commercial free, so you should be able to breeze through it.
My hope is that you'll find the show insightful and entertaining considering it is HARDCORE Dolphins talk.
I'd also like to mention I will be co-hosting another WQAM show next Saturday, and filling in for Captain Curtis on Adam Kuperstein's two-hour afternoon show next Thursday.
Until then I'll be doing my best to enjoy the bye week.
