He still has a year of high school basketball ahead of him, but the speculation about a potential professional career is already swirling around Pine Crest's Brandon Knight.
One web site, nbadraft.net, has Knight listed as the third overall pick in its 2011 mock draft.
Joining Knight on the list is former American Heritage star Kenny Boynton, who the site lists as the No. 23 overall pick.
Knight was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year after leading the Panthers to a second consecutive Class 3A championship while averaging 31.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists last season.
Boynton, who signed with Florida, was a McDonald's All-American after averaging 32.0 points and 8.0 rebounds. He finished his career as the state's third all-time leading scorer.
If the site's projections hold true, Knight would be selected by the Los Angeles Clippers while Boynton would head to Houston.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
