Endangered SpeciesConservation

An Islamorada homeowner called the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday with an interesting concern: A nine-foot long crocodile appeared to be nesting in her yard, Deputy Becky Herrin said.

Deputies and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission personnel removed the reptile and discovered that she had laid 27 eggs.
