The city receives $300,000 a year to provide fire protection to the two Seminole casinos and other tribal land in the city. It will also receive roughly $1 million beginning in 2011-12 from the Seminole Tribe casinos in Hollywood. The city, which has an operating budget of roughly $175 million this year, is grappling with a shortfall of up to $25 million for next year. "All additional revenue is helpful," said Raelin Storey, a spokeswoman for the city. "But exactly how it will be utilized and minimize that gap is unclear at this point."
