H&M’s first Broward County store and the fourth in South Florida opened Thursday at noon as hundreds of patient and loyal fans waited in line for hours before the grand event.
The store at Pembroke Lakes Mall in Pembroke Pines sells trendy, affordable apparel and accessories for men, women and children. It’s also the first in Florida to carry the Swedish brand’s plus-sized collection, said Nicole Christie, H&M's spokeswoman.
Many shoppers showed up early eager to be among the first 100 to receive an H&M “Access to Fashion Pass,” ranging from $10 to $300.
Desiree Castaño and her mom, Julie, scored passes valued at $50 and $75. They got to the mall at 4:10 a.m.
“They have good prices and it’s good quality,” said Desiree Castaño, 19. “I like the sophistication of it. And it fits every style.”
H&M has two additional stores in Miami-Dade County and one in Palm Beach County.
Another H&M store is set to open at the Mall at Wellington Green in Wellington Oct. 10th and another at CityPlace in West Palm Beach Oct. 17.
Pembroke Lakes Mall is at 11401 Pines Blvd.
