Steven Beumel, 49, admittedly swiped syringes loaded with pain meds during patients' procedures done at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and then replaced them with syringes of saline with dirty needle sticks contaminated with Hepatitis C from 2006 to 2008, reports the Orlando Sentinel.
An outbreak of Hep C at the clincic prompted testing of thousands of patients who could have been infected. Two patients, including one who had died, were linked to Beumel.
