Colony West Country Club, 12th hole Par 4, 452 yards
This hole just may be the toughest in South Florida, even tougher than the famed 18th at Doral Golf Resort & Spa's Blue Monster. Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge designed a truly troubled child. The tee shot requires a long and precise drive over water and through a chute of trees. If you play it safe with a 3 wood off the tee, you leave yourself a long iron or fairway wood to a green protected by water and bunkers.
"Whew. It's a tough hole," says Colony West pro Craig Rack. "Basically, it's unforgiving. There's no safe bail-out off the tee or on the approach."
